Mármol Rosa: Christodoulos Panayiotou
(Mexico City, 04 Jun- 27 Aug 2017)
Casa Luis Barragán

Departing from the wide spectrum of references that materialized into the highly unique fusion of Luis Barragán’s architecture and articulating a new dialogue between his production and the concepts behind his own work, Christodoulos Panayiotou will re-contextualize and re-signify personal and domestic elements that evoke Luis Barragán’s spirituality and sensibility, at the time that connect with a more complex political, social and anthropological discourse.
Born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1978, Christodoulos Panayiotou combines his initial knowledge in choreography and anthropology with performance and conceptual art, to develop artworks that are focused on the identification and uncovering of hidden narratives in the visual records of history and time. His work has been exhibited at the 56th Venice Biennial-Cyprus Pavilion, Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Kunsthalle Zürich, Casino Luxembourg, dOCUMENTA (13) Kassel, Centre Pompidou, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and MoCA, Miami.
