Mario Garc\u00eda Torres (M\u00e9xico, 1975)<\/h4>

Mario Garcia Torres received an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. Recent solo exhibitions of his work have taken place at Project Arts Centre, Dublin (2013); Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof\u00eda, Madrid (2010); Fundaci\u00f3n Joan Mir\u00f3, Barcelona (2009); Kunsthalle Z\u00fcrich (2008); and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2007). He has also participated in such international exhibitions as the Berlin Biennale (2014); the Mercosul Biennial, Porto Alegre, Brazil (2013); Documenta 13, Kassel, Germany (2012); the S\u00e3o Paulo Biennial (2010); and the Venice Biennale (2007). Garcia Torres is inspired by the history of conceptual art, often unraveling many of the same narratives and updating them inside new contexts. His perspective, often nostalgic regarding history, leads to ideas, meanings and new perspectives on the issues at hand. Through film, installation, slide shows and performative interventions, Mario Garcia Torres revives the tradition in a critically, sensual and playful way.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
